About Jarrett

Jarrett Laskey is a classically trained professional musician performing a repertoire of Spanish/Latin guitar music, standard classical music favorites, and contemporary arrangements. The elegant sound of Jarrett's classical guitar music has created the perfect ambience in hundreds of events over the past few years in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Jarrett has provided a versatile playlist for a variety of social events located in finer hotels, national landmarks, historic mansions, country clubs, vineyards, and art galleries. Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use any amplification?

Yes. I use a 300 watt amplifier that will enhance the sound to provide either a discreet background or louder ambiance for large indoor enclosures/crowds. Outdoor settings can also be covered with the amplifier.

Do you work with other musicians?

Yes, I have worked with a number of vocalists and instrumentalists such as violin, guitar, cello, etc as needed.

Do you accommodate special music requests, or favorite pieces/songs?

Yes. I am very open to learn any new piece you may want to hear if it's not already in my repertoire. I ask for at least 30 days' notice. I have accommodated special requests from classical music to popular music pieces and even movie themes for brides.

What equipment, or provisions will you need us to provide?

I bring my amplifier and music stand, so I will just need to have an armless chair, and relative close proximity to a source of electricity.

We have no wedding/musicial background and need direction in planning our wedding music, can you help?

Yes. I will assist in planning the ceremony music and cocktail hour with you. I can walk you through the various selections of the typical wedding ceremony and make musical suggestions for each phase.

Can you play a few songs before the ceremony?

Yes, I provide up to 30 minutes of prelude music as guests are arriving prior to the wedding ceremony, as part of my wedding package.

Do you charge for travel expenses?

I don't charge for travel if the performance location is within a 25-mile radius of my home. If your event is taking place outside this range, a travel fee will be added to your estimate.

What is your typical attire?

I will wear either a dark suit or black tuxedo for your event at your discretion. Typically the tuxedo is only requested for events occurring after dark.

Do you have any references we can check?

Yes. A list of references from past performances is available upon request.

Send me a message and I will answer any questions you have.
